We offer accredited training courses in the following areas:

  • FIRST AID

  • SWIFTWATER RESCUE  (We are an accredited Rescue 3 International training provider)

  • KAYAKING 

  • RAFTING 

  • ABSEILING & CLIMBING 

  • CANYONING 

Courses are conducted by Wild Education Tasmania staff who are accredited instructors/assessors in their relevant fields and hold currency with the appropriate Peak Bodies. 

All of our first aid courses are conducted in partnership with the Professional & Technical Training Australia RTO with nationally recognised certificates given to successful participants.

  • Refresher = 2 days (including 1 night scenario) + Online theory component

Rescue 3 International –

Swiftwater Rescue Courses

We are an accredited Independent Training Provider for Rescue 3 International here in Australia.  Rescue 3 International is the largest accrediting body for Technical Rescue programs in the world.

Here at Wild Education Tasmania we offer training and international accreditation in the following disciplines:

Whitewater Rescue Technician Professional  (WRT-PRO)

A course designed for professional river users who require a rescue capability in a whitewater environment, eg outdoor educators, raft guides, safety kayakers.

Contact hours: 24 hours

Prerequisites:

  • Current River Guide

  • Prior river experience

  • Must be a confident swimmer

  • Minimum age: 18.

Qualification valid for: 3 years

Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician

This course is designed for Emergency Service Personal. It provides rescuers with the fundamentals of survival in moving water and is recommended for anyone who may be called upon to effect in-water rescues. Students gain knowledge in hydrology and river classifications, size-up, site control and scene management. Practical skills include self-rescue, swiftwater swimming and the fundamentals of shore, boat and in-water rescues. Additionally students are introduced to the basics of boat handling and the fundamentals of rope rescue including mechanical advantage and anchor systems.

Contact hours: 24 hours

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age: 18

  • Confident Swimmer

Qualification valid for: 3 years
